Jack- We perhaps didn't make this sufficiently clear, but there will be no output files with 13 km resolution. The model is now being run at 13 km with many enhancements to the code. Disk space issues, however, make it impossible for NCEP Central Operations to generate and store output files at full resolution. As a result, the best files we can provide at this time are the bgrb20 and pgrb20; the 13 km grids are interpolated to 20 km to produce these files. It is true that some small amount of detail is lost in displaying output from a 13 km model at 20 km. The output, however, is still a significant improvement over the products available prior to this morning, due to all of the changes to the analysis code, the microphysics, convective scheme, and such. Our apologies for the confusion.
