assimilation issue

Dear folks, The Laredo,TX dewpoint should be assimilated into model runs with caution on all observations taken between 12Z and 05Z. There are serious problems with the sensor that feeds into a digital display that is read off by the FAA observers. The dewpoints read about 10F too low. Between 06Z and 11Z, manual observations taken by security personel are much more reasonable. Dewpoint observations taken in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico (MMNL) are more usable than the Laredo (KLRD) observations between 12ZZ and 05Z. Richard Berler KGNS TV Laredo,TX
