RUC20 BUFR

I have been looking at the RUC20 parallel BUFR files. Although they were supposed to be exactly like the ETA, there are 2 more surface parameters (the ETA has 58 but the RUC has 60). It appears that, while the ETA files have 4 layers of both soil moisture (SMC1) and soil temperature (STC1), the RUC20 seems to have 5 layers of both parameters. I have adjusted my software for this and the results appear correct but I just wanted to verify that my assumption is correct so I can document it. Thanks! Phil
