The 20km RUC analysis didn't run for 4-5 hours yesterday afternoon, with crashes similar to some that occurred on Tuesday. It turns out that a sfc ob from the South Pole (that's correct, lat = 89.974 S) started getting into the FSL data base intermittently this week, and caused a problem in converting from lat/lon to grid x/y. We're now limiting ourselves to the Northern Hemisphere. Also, the 12z 20km model run this morning somehow hung in the computer queue and didn't run at the proper time. It is running now, and the 15z run is using the 3h fcst from the rerun 12z run as its background.
